Bee’ah to Participate in Environment Expo 2009, the Region’s Premier Environmental Exhibition & Conference, in Abu Dhabi on 19-21 January
(Sharjah, United Arab Emirates) – 17 December 2008 – Bee’ah, the Sharjah Environment Company today announced that it will participate in Environment Expo 2009, the Middle East’s premier environmental exhibition and conference, taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) on 19-21 January 2009. The stand will be one of the largest at Environment Expo and will show visitors how the diverse actions and campaigns of Bee’ah are already benefitting everyone who works in, lives in or visits the Emirate of Sharjah.

Sharjah Parks Become Truly ‘Green’ as Bee’ah Brings Recycling Facilities to Visitors
Bee’ah, the Sharjah Environment Company today announced that its continuing expansion of the provision of recycling facilities has now brought 268 pedestrian recycling centres to several parks in Sharjah. The pedestrian recycling centres allow visitors to the parks to deposit their recyclable waste and contribute to the pilot recycling schemes of Bee’ah.

A Bright Green Idea: Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Company Supports ‘Make the Switch’, Making Low-Energy Light Bulbs Available at Greatly Reduced Cost
Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Company today announced its involvement in a pioneering new scheme that encourages UAE residents to ‘Make the Switch’ to energy-efficient light bulbs. “Make the Switch’ will allow UAE residents to purchase a twin-pack of Illume low-energy light bulbs at the cost of just AED 10 (representing a discount of approximately 75%) from any Emarat filling station. The highly-efficient bulbs use 78% less energy than conventional light bulbs, bringing environmental benefits and noticeable cost savings.

November 19, 2008 - Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Company today announced the appointment of Mr. James Hartnell as Director, Marketing with immediate effect. Most recently, Mr. Hartnell was Vice President at NettResults, a Dubai-based public relations and marketing company where he was responsible for business development and overseeing the smooth running of multiple client accounts.

Director of Operations Appointed at Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Company
November 9, 2008 - Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Company today announced the appointment of Mr. James McGuire as Director, Operations with immediate effect. Mr. McGuire joins Bee’ah following an 11-year period based in the United Kingdom with environmental services provider Veolia, most recently as Recycling Manager.

Bee’ah, the Sharjah Environment Company, is pleased to announce its participation in yesterday’s Earth Hour. His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Abdullah Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZ) and His Excellency Salim Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Municipality and Agriculture, and Chairman of Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bee’ah and Hamriyah Free Zone which will form the basis of Bee’ah becoming the regulatory and monitoring partner of the Free Zone Authority.

Government VIPs Meet with Environmental Companies and Agree on a Development Path to Create World-Class Recycling and Waste Disposal Facilities in Sharjah
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi, Head of the Finance and Administration Department of Sharjah, and His Excellency Salim Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Municipality and Agriculture, and Chairman of Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Company, last week toured the Al Saja’a waste management site with Emirates Environmental Technology (EET) Co. LLC, the site operators, and Mr. Saeed Al Mazemi, Landfill Coordinator of the Solid Waste Department, Sharjah Municipality. Sheikh Mohammed and Chairman Al Owais viewed the entire landfill site together with the new cells being developed to enable recycling of waste into reusable material and safe disposal of other materials.
